Evidence found in creek near Gatineau Park slaying

A creek in Gatineau, Que., has yielded evidence believed to be related to the slaying of a woman found naked, bleeding and barely conscious in Gatineau Park on Dec. 10, police said.

Victim stabbed more than 12 times, autopsy found

Policefound evidence Thursday in acreek in Gatineau, Que., they believe is linked to the attack ona woman found naked, bleeding and barely conscious in Gatineau Park last Sunday.

Kelly Morrisseau, the 27-year-old mother of three children who was pregnant with a fourth, died in hospital shortly after she was found by a man walking his dog early Sunday morning.

Autopsy results showed shewas stabbed more thana dozentimes and died of massive blood loss.

Gatineau police Lieut. Jean-Paul LeMay said investigatorsseized evidence from thecreek near Rue Des Frnes,close tothe southwest corner of Gatineau Park.

A canine unit and police divers were sent to search the creek after police received a tip from the public and a mobile command post was set up near the park.
