Ottawa woman killed in head-on crash north of Perth

The crash between a pickup truck and an SUV happened between Perth and Innisville around 1:45 p.m. Monday, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

An Ottawa woman is dead after a head-on collisionon Highway 7north of Perth Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at Gardiner Road, between Perth and Innisville, around 1:45 p.m. Monday, Ontario Provincial Police wrote in a news release Tuesday morning.

The 77-year-old driver of a SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, while the49-year-old man from Mississippi Mills drivinga pickup truck wasn't seriously injured.

They were the only ones in their vehicles.

The highway was closed for several hours but has since reopened. OPP said the investigation continues.

The collision was about 13 kilometres north of downtown Perth, 15 kilometressouthwest of downtown Carleton Place and 60 kilometres southwest of downtown Ottawa.
