Warsama Youssouf, 27, taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, later declared dead
Ottawa police have identified the man shot to death early Sunday morning in the city's east end,thefourth shooting death in the nation's capital in the past fivedays.
Police and emergency responders were called to the intersection of Cyrville and Meadowbrook roads at approximately12:50 a.m. after getting reports of gunshots.
CBC spoke with several neighbours of the strip mall where the shooting happened. Theyreported hearing between three and five gun shots just after 12:30 a.m.
Policefound27-year-oldWarsama Youssouf from Ottawa in a parking lot sufferingfrom gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital but was later declared dead.
The homicide unit is investigating.A section of Meadowbrook Road was closed at5:30 a.m. but has since reopened.

Police appeal for information
On Friday evening, Ottawa police were called to Alta Vista Drive after two men were shot dead, with a third man taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two days earlier, on Wednesday, police were called to Palmerston Drive following the shooting of a 22-year-old man.
Police said Sunday night they were also investigating a shooting that occurred around 7:20 p.m. onWoodroffe Avenue.
Paramedics told Radio-Canada that one person was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
There have now been seven homicides in Ottawa in 2021.
