Going up against Diane Deans in Gloucester-Southgate

Diane Deans is looking to hold on to her council seat for the seventh time in a row in Gloucester-Southgate.

Diane Deans is looking to hold on to her councilseat for the seventh time in a row in Gloucester-Southgate.

Deans was first elected in November 1994 (pre-amalgamation) and since then she has been at the table for six consecutive terms.

In the last election she won about 56 per cent of the vote.

This time around there are four othercandidates hoping to end her reignin Gloucester-Southgate:

Gloucester-Southgateand neighbouring Alta Vista ward have beentrying to deal withgun violence in and around Walkley Road. The ward alsoincludes South Keysand the airport, and as with many wards, candidates are pointing to roads and traffic as big priorities.
