Jim Watson says Ottawa mayor will be his last political job

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson vows to run for a second term, not counting his first stint as mayor from 1997 to 2000.Watson ran again in 2010, defeated Larry OBrien, and has not looked back.

In a year-end sit-down interview with CBC TV News host AdrianHarewood,Watson discussed the year that was and what his political future holds.

From the tragic bus-train crash to the casino to light rail and Lansdowne, Watson says he is ready for more.

(Its the) toughest and busiest job Ive ever had, but the most enjoyable, Watson tells Harewood.

There hasnt been a day where I havent enjoyed coming into work. There have been some tough days the bus-train accident was a tough day but the outpouring of support from the public, helping those familiesreally warmed my heart.

Watson also said this job will likely be his last in politics.

I really found my comfort level and where I think I can contribute the most at the municipal level, he said.
