Swimmer dies in lake near Eganville

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they found a missing swimmer's body after several hours of searching Bonnechere Valley's Lake Clear on Sunday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they found a missing swimmer's body after several hours of searching Bonnechere Valley's Lake Clear on Sunday.

In a news release Monday, OPP said they were called to the lake about 10 kilometres southwest from Eganville around 9:30 a.m.

Theyweretold a 27-year-old man had been jumping off rocks into the water when he failed to resurface.

Emergency crews searchedthe lake using boats, including one belongingto a citizen, police said. Firefighters also used a drone in the search.

An OPP underwater search team located the unnamed man's body before 7 p.m., OPP said.
