Gatineau police say the deaths of two adults whose bodies were found alongside an unharmed 3-year-old child in a Hull apartment are not being investigated as a crime.

A man and woman were found dead inside an apartment in Gatineau's Hull neighbourhood Monday afternoon, along with an alive and unharmed three-year-old child.

Gatineau police say the deaths of two adults whose bodies were found alongside an unharmed 3-year-old child in a Hull apartment are not being investigated as a crime.

Police discovered the bodies of a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s after receiving a 911 call just before 4 p.m. Monday. The caller reported that someone may have died in a building on Rue Bgin near MoussettePark, police said in a media release.

The child was taken to hospital as a precaution and was found to be unharmed.

Awaiting toxicology results

CBC News has identifiedthe man found dead in the apartmentasChristopher Lecouvie.

Lecouvie's relationship to the woman and the child has not been confirmed.

Autopsies showed no signs of violence in the deaths of the adults, but police are awaiting the results of toxicology tests which could determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role, according to Gatineau police Const. Andre East.

HakimFarhat, who regularly visits a friend in the same building said helast saw the couple three or four days ago.

"They were in the balcony, Iremember... I think they werewith a couple of friends but nothing really like a hard party or anything. They were just talking or something. Sometimes Isee them barbecue, sometimes I see them playing with the kid on the balcony, but I never expected such a thing to happen," Farhatsaid.

Neighbours saidthe couplehad been living in the apartment for at least six months.
