Ottawa police havemade a change in the leadership of its tactical unit, CBC News has learned.

In November, anonymous members of the squad sent the Special Investigations Unit, the Ottawa Police Services Board and CBC a scathing letter questioning the leadership skills of then Acting Staff Sgt.MartinRukavina.

Theletter accused Rukavina of not listening to the input of team members whenplanning a June 2014 training session that left fiveemergency responders injured after an explosion.

Rukavina, a sergeant, has been transferred to patrol services, police sources told CBC.The new staff sergeant of the tactical unit is Paul Burnett,a former tactical officer.

The letter also criticized the leadership of Insp. Mark Ford, but Ford is staying put.

The Special Investigations Unit hasn't yet concluded its investigation into the June training exercise explosion. The SIU is also looking at the allegations made in the letter.
