Vanier homicide of Dady Jean leads to first-degree murder charges

Two men and a woman have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 14 homicide of 41-year-old Dady Jean, Ottawa police say.

Three people are facing first-degree murder chargesin connection with the Nov. 14homicide of 41-year-old Dady Jean in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood.

JohnnieLocey-Derouchie, 23, and Dominique Paul Chrtien, 20, were both taken into custody by police in connection with the homicide, the city's seventh of 2015.They were both charged withfirst-degree murder on Wednesday.

Ottawa police announced thattwomen had beenarrested shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A third person, Candy Loceyof Ottawa,was also arrestedin connection with Jean's killing and charged with first-degree murder on Thursday.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, officers were called to the 300 block of Lacasse Avenue in the city's Vanier neighbourhood after receiving a 911 call indicating shots had been fired.

One man later identified as Jean was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead. Police said at the time that the shooting was not a random act.
