More charges in collision that hurt 5 cyclists

An Ottawa driver faces five more charges in relation to a hit-and-run collision that injured five cyclists in July.

An Ottawa driver faces five more charges in relation to a hit-and-run collision that injured five cyclists in July.

Sommit Luangpakham, 45,has now beencharged withfive counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, following a police investigation into the collision.

The incidentoccurredon March Road at Solandt Road on the morning of July 19.

The cyclists, three men and two women between the ages of 27 and 45,werereportedly struck by a minivan while riding in a bike lane. All fivewere taken to hospital, andfour of them have since been released.

Luangpakham was initially charged on July 20 with five counts of failing to stop at the scene of a collision causing bodily harm.
