From Sept. 22 to Oct. 23, CBC Ottawa will visit the 23 electoral wards in the city of Ottawa to get the inside track on the issues people are talking about on the eve of the upcoming municipal election.

The morning of Sept.24, the CBC Street Talk team visitedOsgoodewardto hear directly from you what are the major issues in your ward? What could make your ward a better place to live?

So far, CBC Street Talk has visited a suburban riding and an urban riding. So it's only fitting our next stop was a visit to one of the the rural parts of our city:Osgoodeward.

Osgoode is in Ottawa's south end.The ward is bordered by the Rideau River to the west andBoundary Road to the east.It extends as far south as Marionville Road and as far north as Leitrim Road.

It's the third largest ward but with one of the smallest populations. It's home to a handful of smaller communities like Greely, Metcalfe, and, of course, Osgoode.

In the 2010 municipal election44 per cent of eligible voters turned out to vote- in line with the city wide average.

And it's one of six wards with no incumbent running, so it's a wide open race. That explains why a whopping 11 candidates are chomping at the bit to sit at Doug Thompson's old seat on city council.

CBC Ottawa asked all the candidates running for city council to record a 1-minute pitch and tell voters why they think they're the best candidate for their ward. The pitches below are from those who participated in this project.
