Ottawa wants to know which of the city's intersections are the most dangerous for cyclists.

The city launched an online survey Wednesday asking riders to list the routes and lanes they fear most, as well as other information that will help the city choosewhere to make safety improvements.

"We are looking for cyclist input on the most hazardous intersections they encounter," the survey says. "Many cyclists have taken the same route hundreds of times and therefore are well aware of patterns and specific risks at those locations."

Cyclist Alex De Vries took just a few seconds to come up with at least four spots in downtown Ottawa that worry him.

De Vries andother cyclists set up a website Ottawabikingproblems.ca to collect information on areas that are dangerous or inconvenient for biking. The site has identified more than 80 locations.

De Vries welcomed the city's survey but wants to know when changes willhappen.

Transportation planner Zlatko Krstulich said the city hopes to come up with a plan by the end of this year.

The city hashad at least three cycling deaths this year, including a cyclistwho died after an accidenton BoyceAvenue on Aug. 13.
