Here's what's open and closed in Ottawa on Labour Day Monday

Monday is Labour Day, the final holiday of the summer. Here's what's open and closed in and around Ottawa.

A few stores and malls will open, as will most museums

Monday is Labour Day, the final holiday of the summer. Here's what's open and closed in and around Ottawa.

Shopping and attractions

Grocery stores

Most grocery stores in the city will be closed Monday, butsome including Whole Foods at Lansdowne Park,Farm Boy at Rideau Centre andLoblawson Rideau Street will remain open.

Alcohol

SevenBeer Stores in Ottawa will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., as will nearby stores in Carleton Place and Smiths Falls.

LCBO locations will be closed. Alcohol may be available at rural LCBO convenience outletsand at participating grocery stores that are open Monday.

Pharmacies

Some Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall locations will be open. Check individual stores for holiday hours.

Malls

Bayshore, Place d'Orlans andSt. Laurent malls will beclosed. Rideau Centre and Tanger Outlets will be open, but individual store hours may vary.

Museums and galleries

The National Gallery of Canada and agriculture,aviation, history, nature, science and war museums will beopen.

The Ottawa Art Gallery and Diefenbunker will be closed.

Municipal services

Green bin, recycling and garbage collection

  • There will be no curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection, nor will there be multi-residentialrecycling or green bin collection.
  • Pickup will resume on Tuesday with collection delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
  • Multi-residential garbage containers will be collected as normal.

Libraries

All Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed.

Municipal child care

All municipal child-care centres will be closed.

Recreation

  • Some pools and fitness centres will be open onmodified schedules.
  • Splash pads areopen until Sept. 15. Wading pools have closed for the season.
  • Three city outdoor pools wrap up their seasons Monday by letting dogs swim for an hour. The Bearbrook Pool hosts a dog swim on Sunday.
  • City beaches are no longer supervised by lifeguards.The National Capital Commission'sRiver House swimming area will be open and Monday is the last day of the summer for NCC beaches.

Ottawa Public Health

  • The Site program office and supervised consumption services at 179 Clarence St. will be closed. The Site mobile van will operate from 5 p.m.to 11:30 p.m.
  • The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed.
  • Dental clinics will be closed.

Other services

  • City Hall andclient service centres at Ben Franklin Place and255 Centrum Blvd. will be closed.
  • The provincial court at 100 Constellation Dr. will also be closed.
  • The city's 311 contact centrewill be open for urgent matters.

Getting around

Parking

All City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions apply.

Transit

  • OC Transpowill operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • It's the last day for special summer weekend service on routes 125, 139 and 185.
  • Route 301 between Richmond and Carlingwoodwill not run.
  • OC Transpo's Rideau Centre customer service centre will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The OC Transpo lost and found at Heartwood House will be closed.
  • Para Transporegular bookings will be automatically cancelled. Riders can book tripsthroughMy Para Transpoor by calling613-560-5000.
  • The taxi coupon line will remain open, as will the 57272 Para Transpo text service.
