Police seek 2 suspects in Nepean shootout

Ottawa police have issued an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man charged with firearm offences in connection to a shootout in Nepean nearly two weeks ago.

Ottawa police have issued an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man charged with firearm offences in connection to ashootoutinNepeannearly two weeks ago.

At about 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, several people called 911 to report gunshots in the area of WoodroffeAvenue and Navaho Drive.

"A scene was established indicating that gunfire had been exchanged," police said in a media release issued days after the shooting.

A short while later, a man showed up at an Ottawa hospital to be treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Days after the shooting, police had issued an arrest warrant for JosephMadore, 25, of Ottawa.

Police are now also searching for Abraham Bihi, 27, and are looking into his whereabouts.

He's charged with the following:

  • Discharginga firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.
  • Using/handling/storing afirearmcarelessly.
  • Pointing a firearm.
  • Possessing a firearm for a purpose dangerous to public peace.
  • Possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate.
  • Possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm while knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate.
  • Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.
  • Possessing a loaded regulated firearm.
  • Possessing a firearm while prohibited.

Last week, police announced they were searching forJoseph Madore, 25,of Ottawa in connection with the same shooting.

The charges against him include:

  • Discharginga firearm with reckless disregard for the life or safety of another person.
  • Careless use, handling and storing of a firearm.
  • Pointing a firearm.
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence orregistration.
  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm while knowingly not holding a licence or registration.
  • Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.
  • Possession of a loaded, regulated firearm.
  • Possession of a firearm while being prohibited from doing so.

Both men are considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Police are also hoping to track down a vehicle involved in the incident: a grey 2009 Acura TL with an Ontario licence plate marked CBYE 918.
