The Lamarre family of Ottawa was visiting Parliament Hill as part of a field trip for home-schooled children when the shooter, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, stormed in and opened fire.

TheLamarreswere one floor below where the shooter barged in Centre Block and police quickly grabbed them and pulled them to safety. However, one of the children was separated from the parents.

On Saturday morning, family therapist Natasxa Cinialso talked about strategies for parents when speaking to their children during a crisis.
