Before and after photos reveal Ottawa-area tornado's ruinous power

These photos taken before and after the Ottawa-Gatineau, Que., tornadoes are stark examples of its devastating power.

The twin tornadoes that struck Ottawa and Gatineau, Que., on Friday left trails of destruction.

Environment Canada said the tornado that laid waste to Ottawa'sDunrobincommunity and Gatineau'sMont-Bleuneighbourhood was likely anEF-3 with wind speeds of up to 265km/h.

The second tornado, which hit Ottawa's Arlington Woods neighbourhood with devastating force,was classified as anEF-2 and packedwind speeds of up to 220 km/h.

These photos, taken before and after the Dunrobin-Mont-Bleutornado, are stark examples of its devastating power.
