A cloudy Friday, then expect some freezing rain

Not a terribly spectacular wrap up to the week today, but it's much better than whatthe weekend has in store.

Low cloud will tend to dominate the skies, but we can hope for the sun to peek through from time to time.

A stray morning flurry or afternoon shower is possible, but not likely, and the high climbs to a seasonal 6 C.

Look for a few centimetres of snow Saturday, which may change to or mix with freezing rain through the afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about this slippery mix for most of the region, except for the Kingston area and western Quebec outside of Gatineau.

The high is a cold 0 C in Ottawa, but 3 C in Kingstonwhere they may be a very small amount of freezing rain alongwith the more liquid kind of rain.

There's expected to besnow alone in the Outaouais, outside of Gatineau.

Lingering snowappears likely into early Sunday.
