Thunderstorm warning ends for Ottawa

A thunderstorm warning is over for Ottawa and Gatineau after storm clouds moved quickly through the region Monday afternoon.

A thunderstorm warning is over for Ottawa and Gatineau after storm clouds moved quickly through the region Monday afternoon.

Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain through eastern Ontario.

The storm warning ended by about 4:30 p.m. for both Ottawa and Gatineau.

The high today was up to 36 C as of 3 p.m., but the humidity could make it feel more like 45.

The agencyissued aheat warning for the regionon Friday, and it is still in effect.

Don't expect adramatic drop in temperature in the coming days either, as it is expected tostay hot for most of the week.
