Shots fired in Overbrook and Hintonburg kept police busy overnight

Ottawa police were kept busy overnight with two shooting incidents: one in Overbrook and another in Hintonburg.

No injuries reported, no arrests made in either case, police say

Ottawa police are investigating two shootings in Overbrook and Hintonburg that occurred overnight.

Shots fired in OverbrookandHintonburgwithin a two-hour spankept Ottawa police busy in the central district overnight.

The first incident occurredat a home on the 400 block of Prince Albert Street, between Frances and Bernard streetsin Overbrook, just before midnight, Ottawa police said in a news release.

There were people inside the home at the time but no one was injured, police said.

No arrests have been made.

Shots heard in Hintonburg

The second incident occurred in Hintonburgonthe 1100 block of Somerset StreetWest,near Bayswater Avenue, just before 2 a.m. Friday.

Several people called 911 to report hearing shots fired.

No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

The two cases are the56th and 57thincidents of gun play in Ottawa so far in 2016.
