Police seek suspect in early morning sexual assault

Ottawa police are investigating a report of an early morning sexual assault on Lebreton Street North.

Ottawa police are investigating a report of an early morning sexual assault on Lebreton Street North.

Police said a 20-year-old woman was walking on Lebreton at about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her from behind, forced to the ground and inappropriately touched. She fought back and the suspect fled toward Somerset Street.

He is described as a dark-skinned man with a goatee who is five-foot-nine inches tall. He was wearing a dark puffy jacket and a baseball cap.

Police said they don't believe the incident is connected to other ongoing investigations of sexual assaults in the city.
