Capital Pride parade road closures: what you need to know

Ottawa's Pride parade is just around the corner. Of course, a giant parade means lots of road closures.

Ottawa's Pride parade is just around the corner.

The parade kicks off at 1:15 p.m.Sunday,and much of Centretown will be tied up with road closures for the majority of the day.

The following streets will be closedbetween 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m:

  • Bank Street between Catherine Street and Gladstone Avenue closed in both directions.
  • Gladstone Avenue between O'Connor and Kent streets closed in both directions.
  • O'Connor Street between Gladstone Avenue and Lewis Street reduced to one lane.

Roads along the parade route will also be closedbetween noon and 4 p.m. Sunday:

  • Gladstone Avenue, between Bank and Kent street.
  • Kent Street, between Gladstone Avenue and Laurier Avenue W.
  • Laurier Avenue W., between Kentand Bank streets.
  • Bank Street, between Laurier Avenue W. and Somerset Street W.

Parking will be prohibited along the parade route from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bank Street between SomersetStreet W. and Florence Street will be closed for a Capital Pride community fairbetween 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
