Rainfall warnings issued for Brockville area

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning that covers the city along with nearby communitieslike Prescott, Morrisburg, Merrickvilleand Kemptville.

The Brockville, Ont., area could be hit withthunderstorms and heavy rain Sunday afternoon, Environment Canada says.

The weather agency has issued a rainfall warning that covers the city, along with nearby communitieslike Prescott, Morrisburg, Merrickvilleand Kemptville.

More than 50 millimetres of rain could come down before the thunderstorms move out of the area later Sunday afternoon, Environment Canada said.

The rain could cause flash floods and localized flooding in low-lying areas, Environment Canada said.
