Pedestrian critically hurt in collision at Rideau and King Edward

A man in his 30s is in critical condition after being hit by the driver of a transport truck in downtown Ottawa, according to police.

A man in his 30s is in critical condition after being hit by the driver of a transport truck in downtown Ottawa, according to police.

Ottawa policesaid in a news release Friday that officers responded to thecollisionaround 9:35 a.m.on Rideau Street just west of King Edward Avenue.

The pedestrian's injuries are considered life-threatening, police said, and they're looking to speak to witnesses.

The crash happened along a major truck route through downtown Ottawa-Gatineau.
