Man in critical condition after Ritchie Street shooting
Incident comes 1 day after shooting at community housing in south Ottawa
Ottawa policeare investigating after a man was shot in the city's west end Wednesday afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on the 100 block of Ritchie Street, near Britannia Park, at about 1:10 p.m.
Paramedics said a 26-year-old man was taken to Ottawa Hospital's Civic campusin critical condition, with trauma to his abdomen.
Police said Thursday that he remains in hospital in critical condition.
No arrests have been made, and noinformation about any possible suspects has been released. The guns and gangs unit is investigating.
Officers are responding to a shooting incident in the 100 block of Ritchie St involving injuries.

"Usually, this neighbourhood is pretty peaceful and quiet," saidCardian Currie, who lives nearbybut didn't see what happened.
"We have a lot of children hereand we have a lot of good programs for the children. So when we see things like this, it does bother us."

The shooting comes one day after 24-year-old Abdulhamid Haji Ragabwas shot at anOttawa Community Housing neighbourhoodon Banff Avenue.
He was taken to hospital in critical condition, and on Thursday police said he died.
The two incidents are unrelated, police also said Thursday.
"The safety and security of tenants is Ottawa Community Housing's top priority," the organizationwrote in an emailed statement Wednesday evening.
"OCH cannot provide further details on these separate incidents as both are currently under investigation by the Ottawa Police Service."
