Sticky fingers: OPP say maple sap buckets stolen in eastern Ontario

Taps, lines and buckets were stolen this week from trees close to the road in the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley, Ontario Provincial Police say.

Ontario Provincial Police in Leeds County are asking for the public's help afterrecent thefts targeting maple sap collectors.

Officers responded to three separate theft calls on Wednesday and Thursday this week on Kitley Line 3 in the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley, where taps, lines and buckets were stolen from trees close to the road.

Sap was taken along with the buckets, according to a statement released by OPP.
