Worker killed in Thurso, Que.

A man was killed while working in ThursoTuesday, according to provincial police.

TheSret du Qubec told Radio-Canada they were called to Les granites de la montagneon rue Galipeau in the small city east of Gatineauaround noon.

Police said they believe granite slabs fell on him.

The worker was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said, and a police investigation is underway.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Quebec's CNESST, the province's employee watchdog, told Radio-Canada in a statement it's also launching an investigation to find out what happened and what can be done to prevent similar incidents.
