Tweed marijuana plant strikes deal with Snoop Dogg

An eastern Ontario medical marijuana producer is pairing up with weed lover Snoop Dogg in a deal that will grant them exclusive rights to use certain content and brands owned by the rapper's company.

An eastern Ontario medical marijuana producer is pairing up withweed-smoking, gin-and-juice sipping Snoop Dogg in a deal that willgrant thecompany exclusive rights to use certaincontent and brands owned by the rapper's company, LBC Holdings.

In exchange for the rights, Tweed Inc., based out of Smiths Falls, Ont., will pay Snoop Dogg anundisclosed amount in cash and stock.

The partnership is the rapper's first foray into the Canadiancannabis industry.

Calvin Broadus Jr., the rapper known as Snoop Dogg, has made anumber of investments recently in the marijuana business, includinglaunching his own cannabis line, Leafs by Snoop, in Colorado lastNovember.

Earlier last year, he created a venture capital fund focused onthe pot industry called Casa Verde Capital.

The deal with Tweed is valid for three years and may be renewedfor another two at the end of that term.
