The newborn was found the afternoon of April 12, wrapped in a blanket and laid near the Birch Hill Free Church of Scotland in Mount Albion, east of Charlottetown. Police are treating the incident as a homicide.

Police named the newborn Baby Albion.

Officers are going door-to-door with a poster, looking for any further information anyone can provide.

"We really are working hard on this case to bring it to a conclusion, and we really need some more information from the public. Webelieve that there may be somebody out there who knows something, and hasn't realized they should tell the police yet," said Media SpokespersonSgt. Leanne Butler.

RCMP also released a picture of an embroidered frog that was on an item foundwith the newborn.

"We're hoping somebody will recognize that, and say, 'Oh well, I saw that embroidered symbol on something, and now that article is no longer there.' Or they may have given the article to somebody," said Butler.

Police say they still haven't received the full autopsy report and don't know how or when Baby Albion died. P.E.I.'s chief coroner said there were no obvious signs of injury or trauma on the baby.

The Free Church of Scotland has offered to provide a burial for the baby, with a funeral planned at the Hennessey Funeral Home in Charlottetown. Funeral details will be announced in the coming days.
