The Hennessey Cutcliffe Funeral Home home will hold a service for Baby Albion, the newborn found dead near a church in Mount Albion last month.

Hennessey Cutcliffe Funeral Home in Charlottetown has offered to hold a service for the dead baby, who was found near the Free Church of Scotland, April 12.

The church has already offered a burial.

Hennessey Cutcliffe's owner Kevin Gallant says he feelsthe mother must be hurting and he knows the community is as well.

"Just the circumstances, I think there will be a lot of people that want to come and pay their respects. And, you know, a story like this affects a lot of people," said Gallant.

"And everyone deserves a proper burial and a proper service."

RCMP continue to consider the case a homicide and are in the process of going door-to-door in the Mount Albion area seeking information.

P.E.I.'s chief coroner said an autopsy showed no injuries and no signs of trauma on the baby.

RCMP expect details of the funeral will be announced soon.
