Additional uses for the Cavendish Beach Music Festival site are being discussed at two public meetings this month.

A study is currently underway to review and analyze the site's use and the festival itself.

The first of two open houses will be held Wednesday in North Rustico by Tourism Cavendish Beach and the Cavendish Resort Municipality to solicit the public's input.

Municipality chairman Matthew Jelley says they want to hear about what type of events they'd like to see at the site and what concerns they might have.

"What we can do is create a framework, the evaluation process that potential events would go through, the criteria that would be applied to them, and give a little more guidance to both the operators of the site and other tourism operators and the community as to what is part of the process," said Jelley.

Wednesday's open house will be held at the Lion's Club in North Rustico starting at 7 p.m. The second is planned for Feb. 24 at the same location and time.
