A Cornwall, P.E.I., woman is warning dog owners to keep a close eye on their pets after anincident she says she witnessed late Friday night.

Tee Bell believes someone tried to lure her small dog into aparked vehicle.

She saidshe had put her Shih Tzu on his leash tied to her verandah to go out for the last time before bed. Bell said she stayed outside with her dog, but had walked a bit away from her pet when she heard someone talking.

"I heard like this coaxing voice, a little bit raspyvoice talking to my dog,"said Bell."And I looked up and I noticed that his leash was just fully extended. So I looked to see you know what he was looking at and there was a woman in a car, in the parking lot beside my house, coaxing my dog over. Like you know, 'Come here.'

"I was mad. I threw a rock at her car. You know, how dare you come and try and take my dog. My kids are grown and that's like my child that you're trying to take."

Bell said she didn't think the person could tell the dog was tied up.

She said the person, who she thinks was a woman, drove away quickly.

Bell saidshe phoned the RCMP to notify them and also posted a warning on social media.

RCMP saidthey haven't received any calls from other dog owners reporting similarincidents.

However they saidthey are receiving inquires about postings on social media.
