Taxpayers have incurred $118,000 so far in legal costs related to the failed e-gaming file, Finance Minister Allen Roach told the P.E.I. Legislature Thursday.

Capital Markets Technologies is suing the provincial government for $25 million over a proposal to develop an e-gaming initiative on P.E.I.

Among a number of claims, it says the province acted in breach of good faith and failed to act honestly in the deal.

The plan was abandoned in 2012.

When the case was in P.E.I. Supreme Court for the first time earlier this month, lawyers for the government estimated the total legal cost will be $1.2 million by the time it's over.
