A vacant building that was the scene of a fatal fire last month on Mount Edward Road in Charlottetown was torn down Wednesday morning.

Fire inspectors spent nine days examining the building after the March 29 fire, before telling police their work on the site was done. Three teenagers died, and a fourth was seriously injured and treated for burns in Halifax.

Police turned the building back over to the owner Tuesday.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
