MADD Canada is showing P.E.I. students a new promotional video depicting the fictional story of the 24 hours before a fatal crash caused by drunk driving.

In 24 Hours, a group of students about to graduate make a series of choices that lead to deadly results.

"It depicts youth who are at an age of graduation and they're considering going to a closing bush party," said Susan MacAskill, chapter services manager for the Atlantic Region of MADD.

"They ask themselves, 'What would we do if we only had 24 hours to live?' So unbeknown to them, that actually is what happens, because of the choices that they make that result in the incident that happens, and does result in fatalities."

The video is being played at intermediate and high schools throughout the province to remind youth of the dangers of impaired driving.

The videos also include real-life stories from Canadians who lost loved ones to impaired driving.
