A special celebration is planned this weekend for P.E.I. biathlete Mark Arendz, who won two Paralympic medals in Sochi.

Arendz took a silver in the 7.5 km event and a bronze in the 12.5 km competition.

The 24-year-old recently arrived back home, and now neighbours and friends are organizing a celebration. Arendz will speak about losing an arm in a farm accident at the age of seven, and about the hard work and determination it took to compete at the Paralympics.

The organizers are hoping people from across P.E.I. will come out to show their support and appreciation for Arendz and his accomplishments.

It will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Hartsville church.
