P.E.I.'s May Run Music Festival acts announced

Tim Chaisson, Vishtn, Gordie MacKeeman and Nathan Wiley will take the stage during Music PEI's May Run Music Festival, joining more than 60 Island acts for the five-day event being held May 18 to 22.

TimChaisson,Vishtn, GordieMacKeemanand NathanWileywill take the stage during MusicPEI'sMay Run Music Festival, joining more than 60 Island acts for the five-day event being held May 18 to 22.

Music PEI announced details of the festival at a news conference Monday morning. Last year, the organization moved its annual music week and awards show from January to May and re-branded it as the May Run Music Festival, adding the Canadian Song Conference.

45-year veteran of the Canadian music scene Bernie Finkelstein, founder of of True North Records, will be the keynote speaker for the song conference.

Showcases will include a songwriter's concert, country jubilee and House of Rock as well as Friday and Saturday night showcases and a closing concert.

The songwriters concert at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown will feature Tim Chaisson, Nathan Wiley, Emilee Sorrey and Josh Carter as well as a mystery guest.

The House of Rock will feature O'Leary, Aron Scott and more.

Art for Music will feature Jenna Cyr, Angelina MacKinnon, Julia Dunn and Emma Doucette at The Guild in Charlottetown.

Music Mosaic in partnership with theFdration culturelle de l'le-du-Prince-douardwill feature Julien Kitson, DOC and others.

Music at the Market will feature Jenna Cyr and Julien Kitson the Saturdays before and during the festival.

Music PEI will host an awards party on the Sunday afternoon of the festival.

The closing concert will feature Ten Strings and a Goat Skin, Tim Chaisson, Vishtn, Gordie MacKeeman and others at the Delta Hotel in Charlottetown.

There will also be an official after party featuring Emilee Sorreyplusmore artists to be announced.
