More snow and blowing snow for P.E.I.

Storm bringing snow and high winds that will make travel difficult over the next couple of days.

Wednesday morning started with a few clear patches in the sky but by 8 a.m. the snow had begun.Thestorm will bring heavy snow and high winds that will make travel difficult over the next couple of days.

The weather radar at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday showed the snow storm advancing on P.E.I. (Environment Canada)

There is a winter storm warning in effect for Queens and Kings counties and a blowing snow advisory for Prince County.

"The wind is going to be staying strong even through tomorrow, so what snow is falling today is going to be blowing around for next 24 to 36 hours," said CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

Winds will start gusting up to 70 km/h Wednesday afternoon.

The snow will mostly stop about midnight, dropping 15-20 centimetres, with a little less in Prince County, but the winds will continue into Thursday creating visibility problems.
