P.E.I. golf course opens for the season

For Island golfers anxious to dust off their clubs, there is one course that has opened for the season.

The nine-hole Vista Bay course in Alexandra is taking walk-on players only.

Course manager Glen Beaton said this is actually a late opening for Vista Bay.

We know there's people who like to golf early, and the snow's all gone up the hill so we're okay on the whole nine holes. It's very weather dependent but we'll be open if it's possible at all, he said.

Beaton said a heavy rainfall warning could close the course on Thursday, but he expects play will likely resume Friday and throughthe weekend.
