P.E.I. to pay for Camp Gencheff renovations

The cost of a new roof for the main building at Camp Gencheff, which provides programs for children with mental and physical disabilities, will largely be paid by the P.E.I. government.

The cost of a new roof for the main building at Camp Gencheff, which provides programs for children with mental and physical disabilities,will largely be paidby the P.E.I. government.

The Department of Communities and Cultural Affairs will pay $37,500 of the $50,000 cost. The Department of Social Services is also providing a $30,000 operating grant.

The independently operated camp is the only facility of its kind on P.E.I.

Camp Gencheff, located in Bellevue Cove, offers activities for people of all ages throughout the summer, and alsoprovides respite care for families three weekends of the month for the rest of the year.
