P.E.I. athlete Alex Mann won three medals at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships in Montreal over the weekend.

Mann won a silver for vault, a bronze for the parallel bars and a bronze medal all around in the open division.

"It's a really big deal. There are a lot of really good gymnasts there," said Mann.

"It's great to look around and see what everyone else is doing. You always see some cool tricks, get inspired, talk to people. A lot of people are great guys, super friendly."

Mann is a UPEI student, and on top of his studies trains more than 15 hours a week, and coaches on top of that.

Mann is hoping to return to the national championships next year.
