Police say the investigation into Baby Albion, a dead newborn found outside a church in Mount Albion, P.E.I., is still ongoing and active.

The baby was found on April 12, 2015, wrapped in a blanket and laid near the Birch Hill Free Church of Scotland. Police named the newborn Baby Albion.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.

"We still are getting tips from the public and we're asking again today, as you reflect on this a year later, if you have some information give us a call," saidRCMPSgt.LeanneButler, adding police received a tip just a few weeks ago.

Police are also doing DNA testing, Butler said. Police have several leads, she saidbut there is still no resolution to the case.

Police still have not released the gender of the baby, or the cause of death.

"It protects the integrity of that investigation when all the facts aren't out there and everyone knows everything," explained Butler. "The police keep it that way as part of their investigation."
