Here are the candidates running in Charlottetown

This is P.E.I.'s only exclusively urban riding, containing the city of Charlottetown and some outlying areas toward Winsloe, Brackley and Miltonvale Park.

The Liberals have held this riding for over 30 years, and for the last two terms Liberal MP Sean Casey has represented the people of Charlottetown.

Five candidates are running in this ridingand they'relistedalphabetically byfirst name.

Darcie Lanthier, Green Party

Darcie Lanthierhas lived in Mermaid for over 30 years and is running in a federal election for the first time. Lanthier ran for the Greens provinciallyin 2011 and 2015, but did not win.

She is an entrepreneur, performs energy audits for homes and workplacesand works as a legal information officer with a focus on legal education for seniors and newcomers.

Fred Macleod, Christian Heritage Party

Fred MacLeodlives in Belle River and isrunning in Charlottetown. This is his first time running for political office. He was a shop steward anddirector of the P.E.I. Union of Public Sector Employees Local 15 and a peace officer for Highway Safety P.E.I.

He's currently the clerk of session for his local church and previously volunteered with Cub Scouts of Canada.

Joe Byrne, New Democratic Party

The leader of the provincial NDP is on the ticket for the Charlottetown seat. This will be Joe Byrne's third time running federallyin Charlottetown, losing both the2011 and 2015 contests. He also ran for the party in the 2019 provincial election.

He'sinvolved in a number of community groups including the Cooper Institute and the P.E.I. Association for Newcomers. He also worked with Community Connections andas a driving instructor.

Robert Campbell, Conservative Party

Robert Campbell was born and raised in Charlottetown and is running for federal office for the second time. His first shot at politics was in Nova Scotia in 2006. He lost, but he's been involved with the party ever since.

Campbell was part of the inaugural class of the Atlantic Police Academy and worked as a municipal police officer before serving 28 years in the RCMP. He's also volunteered with the Special Olympics, the Kidney Foundation and more.

Sean Casey, Liberal Party

Sean Casey isthe incumbent MP in Charlottetown and has represented the city for the last eight years. He'scurrently the parliamentary secretary to the minister of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

He's also served as parliamentary secretary for the justice minister and for the minister of Canadian heritage. Before politics, Casey was president of the Paderno Group of Companies, and was the regional managing partner at the Stewart McKelvey law firm.
