A driver accused of nearly striking a pedestrian at a Charlottetown intersection has been arrested for impaired driving, police say.

Charlottetown Police said they received a complaint Wednesday about a potentially impaired man who came close to hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of Grafton and Queen streets.

When officers located the vehicle, a drug recognition expert determined the driver was potentially drug-impaired.

A 53-year-old Charlottetown man was arrested and will appear in court at later date.
