Choose Summerside event officially launches

Described as a family-friendly event that will bring together and celebrate business and community, Choose Summerside was officially launched on Thursday.

Described as a family-friendly event that will bring together and celebrate business and community, Choose Summerside was officially launched on Thursday.

Showcasing businesses and organizations

"Choose Summerside is lined up to be one of the biggest events of its kind in many years,"said Dan Kutcher, president of the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce at Credit Union Place. The event is scheduled for May 6 at CUP.

"[It] is an idea that is based on one of the single most fundamental decisions you can make in your life where you choose to live, work and raise your family."

The one-day event is an opportunity for Summerside businesses and organizations to showcase to the community what they have to offer. Some of the participantsarePrestige Home Decor, Slemon Park, Callbecks Home Hardware, Red Shores, Sandbox Arcade andSpotlight School of Arts, according to a press release.

'Family-friendly celebration'

"This family-friendly celebration of our business community is much more than a home show, more than a trade show and involves more than just the business community,"said Kutcher.

"The event is open to everyone. It is a pay-what-you-can entry fee with entertainment, food [and] activities that are all available every day throughout Summerside, but all here in one place."

Choose Summersideis being presented by the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Summerside and ExploreSummerside.
