Charlottetown movie lovers can now take their film experience to the next level with new high-tech seats.

Charlottetown movie lovers can now take their film experience to the next level:Cineplex Cinemas has installed what are called D-Box chairs, which incorporate motion that reflect what's on the screen.

"From blockbuster action movies to family features, D-BOX Motion Seats immerse our guests that muchfurther into the movie-going experience," said Pat Marshall, vice-president of communicationsand investor relation, in a written release.

The seats debuted in the Charlottetown cinema over the weekend, and are very popular in its62 other locations that have incorporated them, she added.

"Movie fans across Canada love the fun and unique experience, and we look forward to providing it to our guests in Charlottetown," said Marshall.

Thirty-threeD-BOX seats are available in the Charlottetown theatre's largest auditorium, number three.

Moviegoers can adjust the intensity of the movements with controlsbythe armrest.

It'll cost you

The full-body experience does come at a cost: $8.00more per ticket, and the seats mustsbe reserved in advance.

Thefirst film to have the seats in Charlottetown is The Legend of Tarzan.

"This opening is further evidence of the popularity of D-BOX's experience and the appeal of its business model for exhibitors," addedClaudeMcMaster, president and CEO ofD-BOXTechnologies Inc.in the release.
