COVID-19 on P.E.I.: What's happening Thursday, Aug. 5

UPEI faculty and staff say air quality on campus needs to be improved to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Prince Edward Island hasthree new COVID-19 cases involving travel, the Chief Public Health Office said in a news release lateWednesday.

DJs in Prince Edward Island say business is starting to pick up nowthat the province is allowing dancingat weddings.

A P.E.I. woman is hopingto highlight some of the Island's attractions, and give publicity to local businesses andtourism operators affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

Flair Airlines landed its first flight at Charlottetown Airport on Monday, thethird new flight at the airport in a week.

Elsewhere in Atlantic Canada:

• New Brunswick reported 13 new cases Thursday, almost all of them in people aged between 20 and 29, for a total of 51 active cases.
• Nova Scotia has four new cases of COVID-19for a total of 15 active cases, including one person in intensive care.
• Newfoundland and Labrador no longer updates case numbers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As of Wednesday, the province had six active cases, including two people being treated in hospital.
