COVID-19 on P.E.I.: What's happening Tuesday, June 22

The Nova Scotia government has announced travellers from New Brunswick will continue to have to self-isolate upon arrival, even after Nova Scotia opens its borders with P.E.I. and Newfoundland and Labrador starting Wednesday morning.

A cybersecurity expert in New Brunswick is warning that uploading personal documents online to apply for a P.E.I. Pass is putting people's personal information at risk.

Applications for the pass opened last week for residents of the region who are at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19 and demand has been high.

The province streamlined how Island residents can apply for the P.E.I. Pass, making changes on Monday to include an option for Island residents to allow public health officials to verify their proof of vaccination.

For their ninth season and second COVID-19 summer, Prince Edward Island musical comedy duo Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines are back for the Island Summer Review.

A documentary on the Canadian Soccer League's experience playing soccer on Prince Edward Island during the COVID-19 pandemic was posted Sunday on the league's YouTube channel. It's calledRise Above: The Island Games Documentary.

There was no COVID-19 briefing Tuesday. The next scheduled briefing with Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison is June 29.

There have been 206cases of COVID-19 on P.E.I., and none are active. There have been no deaths and two hospitalizations.Prince Edward Islandhas reported no new cases since June 3.

Elsewhere in Atlantic Canada:

Nova Scotia announced two new cases of COVID-19 and two deathson Tuesday, and has 74 active cases.

Newfoundland and Labrador has one new COVID-19 case on Tuesday. There are now 13active cases.

New Brunswick also reported one new case, for a total of 49 active cases.
