Islanders looking to get a meal at Charlottetown's Culinary Institute of Canada will have to wait until November.

The Lucy Maud Dining Room, the institute's fine dining restaurant, and the Montgomery Cafeteria, will close Saturday for six months as it undergoes $7.5 million in renovations as part of an expansion that was announced in January.

"Now that students are finishing their academic year, our construction schedule for the dining rooms and kitchens will be kicking into high gear," Austin Clement, program manager for Culinary and Hospitality Programs, said in a news release.

"We will re-open to the general public in November 2017 with a fresh new look, and vastly improved facilities for our students to receive the best culinary education in Canada."
