Premier Dennis King has dropped the official writ for the deferred election in P.E.I.'sDistrict 9 Charlottetown-Hillsborough Park, and the date is July 15.

The election was deferred after the death of Green Party candidate Josh Underhayand his young sondays before the April 23 election.

"It was a horrible time for certainly his family, for that party and for all people in District 9," said King during his address.

"It's under that that we have to look at this deferred election and make sure that those ideals and those values of Josh and his family are carried forward for the people of District 9."

The election sees two new candidates and two of the original candidates remaining.

The PCs nominatedNatalie Jameson after original candidateSarah Stewart-Clarke dropped out.

John Andrew will run for the Greens, Karen Lavers for the Liberals and Gordon Gay for the NDP.
