5 confirmed flu cases on P.E.I. arrive a bit early in season, province says

There have been five lab-confirmed flu cases in Prince Edward Island, which is a bit earlier than usual, according to the province's chief public health officer.

Province is encouraging Islanders to get their flu shots

The start of 2024 will be the midst of respiratory virus season, with continued COVID activity and an increase in influenza infections, and other cold and cough viruses.

There have beenfive lab-confirmed flu cases in Prince Edward Island, which isearlier than usual,according to theprovince'schief public health officer.

The Department of Health and Wellness is encouraging Islandersto get their free flu shotsavailable in locationsacross the province, includingpharmacies,family doctors andnurse practitionersoffices as well asat Health PEI flu clinics which don't require an appointment.

A list of places to get the vaccine is available on the government'swebsite as well as where to find more information about the flu.
